In 1942, deep in the forests of southern Sweden.
Erik Thulin put the Thule name on a pike fishing trap that he designed, and began to sell to the fisherman of Scandinavia. It wasn’t long before he added other practical things to his business portfolio.
Business grew, gaining profitably year after year.
In the '60s, Thule began to concentrate on car-related products that would make it easier for people to bring gear with them. We introduced our first ski rack in 1962, and In 1979, we went public, with Eldon Group.
